Appeals against decisions
Authors may appeal once against the rejection of their manuscript. Appeals are made in writing to bilgi@artsurem.tr within 30 days of the decision, with reasons and a point-by-point response to the reviewer reports.
- The appeal is assessed by a member of the Editorial Board who was not involved in the original decision; a new reviewer may be consulted.
- The outcome is communicated to the authors within 4 weeks; this decision is final.
- A successful appeal does not mean acceptance; the manuscript re-enters the review process.
- Manuscripts rejected at initial screening as out of scope cannot be appealed.
Complaints
Complaints about the review process, editorial conduct, publication ethics, a published article or the journal’s policies are sent in writing to bilgi@artsurem.tr. Complaints are investigated by the Ethics Editor, or by a member of the Editorial Board with no conflict of interest if the complaint concerns the Editor-in-Chief. The complainant receives a first response within 2 weeks and is informed of the outcome with reasons. Complaints involving suspected misconduct are handled according to the COPE flowcharts.
A complainant who is not satisfied with the outcome may write to the owner and publisher, Sanat ve Dil Araştırmaları Enstitüsü (Institute of Art and Language Studies), at the same address, marking the message “For the publisher”.
