Article processing charge
Kalemişi Journal of Turkic Arts levies an article processing charge (APC) of 3,000 Turkish lira (TRY) for each submitted article. The charge is paid at submission; it does not depend on acceptance and is not refunded, whether or not the article is published.
Optional typesetting service
Typesetting (page layout) is offered as an optional service; authors who request it pay an additional 2,000 TRY. Authors who do not request it submit the final version of their article in the Article Template, ready for publication.
No other charges
Apart from these, there are no page, colour, post-acceptance publication or withdrawal charges. Access to published articles is free for readers. Editors, board members and reviewers receive no payment from authors or third parties for their work.
Fee waivers
Authors whose income or research funding is insufficient (for example, graduate students and independent researchers without institutional support) and authors working in low-income and lower-middle-income countries (World Bank classification) may request a full or partial waiver of the article processing charge. Requests are sent with a brief justification to bilgi@artsurem.tr before submission and are decided by the editorial office. Waiver requests are not passed on to reviewers and have no influence on editorial decisions.
Charges and editorial decisions
Charges have no influence on editorial or review decisions; payment does not imply acceptance. Any change to the charges will be announced in advance and will not apply to manuscripts submitted before the announcement.
Applications for associate professorship
Under the decision of the Council of Higher Education of Türkiye (YÖK) of 7 March 2019, journals that charge a fee at submission, regardless of acceptance or rejection, may be used to meet the publication requirements for associate professorship. The journal charges its fee at submission in line with this decision.
